Treatment of Pigmented Lesions
Pigmented Lesions include age spots, liver spots, sun spots, freckles, and melasma. Typically, these pigmented lesions occur from an excess of pigment in the skin, exposure to sunlight, or congenital factors. Our pigmented lesion laser treatment safely treats only the pigmented lesion without adversely affecting any of the surrounding tissue.
The treatment for these lesions will vary from patient to patient depending on the type of lesion, the size of the affected area, the color of the patient's skin, and depth to which the abnormal pigment extends beneath the surface of the skin. For some lesions (such as age spots), only a few pulses will be required, but for other types of lesions, skin types, etc. multiple treatment sessions may be necessary.
The benefit of treating this lesions is that the procedure is much more comfortable and requires much less recovery time than alternative treatment methods. While anesthesia is not necessary for most patients, it may be that you'll need a topical anesthetic. If you are looking to do away with those age spots, liver spots, sun spots, freckles, or melasma, contact us today to schedule a consultation.
